About

What is Move Health?

A community-focused health initiative developed by physiotherapist and academic Dr Chris Seenan, working with students, community partners and local organisations.

Our aim is simple: to connect university knowledge and student energy with real community needs. We believe universities should play an active role in supporting the wellbeing of the communities around them.

Our focus

What we focus on

Community Impact

Working with local organisations to develop practical activities that support mobility, confidence, independence and everyday health.

Student Learning in Real Settings

Creating meaningful opportunities for students to contribute, learn and develop through supervised community engagement.

Partnership & Co-Design

Collaborating with care homes, community groups, charities and public sector partners to respond to local priorities.

Prevention and Health Equity

Focusing on early support, health literacy and access for communities who may face barriers to traditional services.

Our principles

Why Move Health?

Move Health was created to explore how universities can contribute more directly to community health.

  • Evidence-informed
  • Community-rooted
  • Student-supported
  • Prevention-focused
  • Collaborative
